The Trinity Trailblazers edged out a gritty, hard fought contest against American Christian Friday night. A game that saw both teams up by at least 7 points only to watch their lead vanish, fittingly ended in nail biting fashion. Peter Yamasaki led all scores with 26 points and also contributed greatly on the rebounding effort with 8. Chris Lee continues to prove his worth and is starting to gain the nickname "Mr. Clean" because he cleans the glass so well. Ian Stempert showed up in a big way and seemingly could not miss from mid-range with 14 points.
Trinity fell into a hole early in the first quarter but rebounded quickly and ended the first only down by 3. The second quarter witnessed a 14-2 run by Trinity to stretch the lead to 9, but American refused to go away and by halftime America had pulled back within two. Trinity began the 3rd with a 7-0 run, but again American Christian proved resilient and were able to climb within 2. American eventually was able to tie it at 40, but with a couple of timely shots from Ian and Peter in the 4th quarter, the Trinity Trailblazers seized a lead they would not relinquish. The clock ran out with American Christian unable to get off a good look and the 'Blazers won by 3.
